What will we do?

To enhance our Easter worship; to create opportunities to build friendships in our stake; and to create an opportunity to bear testimony to one another concerning the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, The Kearns North Stake will be staging a reader’s theater adaptation of act 2 of “Savior of the World” during the 2026 Easter season.

What is a “reader’s theater”?

Reader’s theater, as it will be used for this production, is performed by actors in costume, but without elaborate sets, and without requiring memorization of lines. When it’s a character’s turn to perform a line, the actor will approach a microphone on stage and read the lines. We’ll work on knowing the lines well enough that they can be read expressively, with power and passion. The focus becomes the words being read rather than the elaborate set or staging.

In our production, we’ll be working from recorded music, but with live singers ranging from solo parts to choir numbers.
